Patricia Terry - She Has Some Prioritized Issues For You

1. Healthcare for All

As a Registered Nurse, my life is devoted to the wellbeing of others. In my early career, healthcare was focused purely on patient care. The for-profit healthcare industry shifted the focus from patients to profits. As healthcare costs rise and less care is given, America's health suffers. I advocate for a single-payer healthcare system, healthcare for all. For our nation to remain strong, we must have a healthy populace. Not only does it make economic sense, it also makes ethical sense. Healthcare is a right, not a privilege and it is the moral imperative of our day.

2. Environmental Stewardship and Growth Management

We have the great fortune of living in one of the most beautiful places in the world. With this comes responsibility. We must preserve our farms, clean up pollution in the Puget Sound, and maintain the health of our forests. Unbridled development will forever change the landscape of the 10th District, yet we need to make sure that affordable housing is available. We must preserve wildlife habitat so that today's species are here for future generations. To safeguard the integrity of our surroundings, we must always look to the best available science as our guide.

3. Responsible Management of Public Dollars

As a state and a nation, we are long overdue for a conversation about our infrastructure. I feel strongly that the wisest investment we can make is in our state's future. Every road paved, every nail hammered, and every brick mortared is a gift to future generations. There is no better investment than the health and education of our young, the creation of livable wage jobs, and in sustainable community development. When public dollars are used empower the values of social justice and equal opportunity, we will have spent our dollars both wisely and responsibly.
